I am finishing up my undergraduate chemical engineering degree and New Mexico State University and will be graduating in May 2020. I will be taking my fundamental engineering exam in the spring and will be going to work in industry. My goal is to complete my MBA in the next few years. I spent a summer as an REU student in the Brinker Nanomedicine Lab at the University of New Mexico. I was involved in a project focusing on using mesoporous silica nanoparticles as delivery vehicles for vaccine development. The ultimate goal was to be able to use this technology for cancer immunotherapy. I gained an incredible amount of knowledge and we received a provisional patent for our work at the end of the summer. I presented my research at the 2017 AIChE National Student Conference.
